Olympics are here, and we were watching the men's short program last night. If you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. Are they required to do their routines in the exact same order??... Start off the show with 3 jumps, or sets of jumps, then skate around for a couple minutes zigging and zagging throwing their arms in all directions. How 'bout a jump after the 20 second mark of your program? And what is with Scott's guttural sounds? During and after the skating. The only words that can describe what he is thinking is ugh, or oooo, or ahhh. Or after the Russian dudes amazing waving of arm his aaaaaaaa, I think he was trying to indicate that he was speechless, but a simple "I'm speechless" would have done the trick, instead he felt the need to ''aaaaaahhhh" for about 30 seconds after the program. Also after a 19 yr. old kid eats it on his first jump or two, and their comment is 'Its over', I keep expecting the next phrase to be 'He should just skate right off the ice right now because he has no shot, just give up and quit humiliating yourself'. Or at least that's what I hear when I hear the tone of their "Its over". Last note, apparently 'having a quad' is quite an feat for these men. I have a revelation for them, I have 2 quads, but I can't even do a double toe loop, or a sow cow(sp?). I don't know how they run, or walk, with only one quad, but I suppose that's why they are Olympians and I'm not.
