Paraguay Pictures

Here are some pictures from our trip to Paraguay, this was in mid October, so yeah I'm a tad late in putting this up. Y que? Anyway these pics are in no particular order.

Here is an asado, or barbeque. Even Blair agrees that they know how do a good BBQ!!!
Yes, I loved having fresh fruit constantly at my disposal, its too bad is wasn't guava or mango season.
The ruins of Trinidad, they are very well preserved.
I don't think I have ever been so excited to see asphalt in my entire life. And the fact that goats are standing on it is just icing on the cake. The steering column in our vehicle broke in a city surrounded by horrible dirt roads, so in order to leave we got to a paved road as soon as we could, it was a longer distance but a shorter travel time. This was as close as Blair got to drinking some terere, though I had my fair share, and brought home a few kilos home for good measure. Iguazu Falls. Amazing spectacle of falling water. Our time there was enjoyable, and peaceful, it was the coming and going that was the really eventful part.
Here's a good example of what traffic is like, motos everywhere!!
Here is the 2nd time we changed tires leaving the falls, this was the spare, we had a jack but no tools to use it, nor a lug nut wrench. We stopped in front of a hotel, where we borrowed tools, and a coco stand, where we avoided the attention of the police, which was good since we didn't have Brazilian visas.
This was the best part of the trip... for me, I'm not sure about Blair. Being able to see, talk and spend time with people I served was definitely the most rewarding part of everything. I never thought I would see these people again, it was so worth it.
A Big Pig
Hamburger and Hot Dog... street vendor style... Mmmm.
A butterfly that was fond of me.
At the zoo there was only a chain link fence between us and the crocs, so we got a nice pic, up close and personal. Way to show some teeth crocy.
Our 2nd and last flat. It was only 5 km from the airport on our way out of the country, so nothing too stressful. This time our jack was the problem, only lifting the vehicle like 2 inches, so we had to wave down a guy in a truck who could help us. And we made our flight in plenty of time so all was good.

Quick Update... I can see...

Which in and of itself isn't anything new. But the fact that I no longer use no objects, such as curved glass, to enhance my vision is new. I'm now in the process of putting about a gallon of eye drops daily on my eyes so the corneal flaps can heal. So far I am pleased, 20/15 vision in one eye and 20/20 in the other, kinda annoying, but they said the other eye could get better. The procedure was quick albeit a little uncomfortable, then again I've never really enjoyed poking and prodding my eyes so go figure. So, now I can see.

28 years in a row...

We had our annual Lake Powell trip this past week. 66 of us invaded a little cove in Gunsight Canyon. This was our setup...
We played some basketball, I'm pretty sure I threw this one down, right in Kirby's grill (ha, yeah right)
A lot of wake surfing, this is probably our most preferred activity, easy and fun, can't ask for much more than that.

A little early morning skiing, sometimes a little too early morning.
Put on happy faces when we had to pump gas.
And were default champions of the Rook tournament (since the loser's bracket didn't get played out, and we were the only team without a loss).

Still Catching Up...

Celebrated Blair's B-Day Bowling.

She shares her B-Day with my lil' bro, Troy, turning 16. You need to grow out your mustache Troy.

Then we went up the the Manti pageant with Blair's family, that was my 1st time and it was great!

Our next adventure was being 'Platoon Leaders' at our Stake's Youth Conference, that was quite fun, it was like being kids again, we were mistaken for the youth multiple times (enjoying it while it lasts).

Made our 1st trip (of the year) to Lake Powell 4th of July weekend, and we made it up to Rainbow Bridge, quite a nice anniversary getaway, (3 years of bliss!!!!!!!!!)

What's going on (past edition)

After Graduation we went to a Brian Regan show at Tuachan,
made a couple trips to the lake, w/ terere!!

Had to put down Kramer due to renal failure,

and in his memory I styled my hair.

Planted a garden, watermelon, strawberries, peppers and beans....

the first fruits.

Blair went to Girl's Camp,

where she claimed it was cold.

Oh yeah,... We graduated!!

From the University of Dixie State. Blair got her Bachelor's in Nursing and I received my Bachelor's in Biology. We got to walk through the "D" together, that was cute, well, judge for yourself.
Here we are by our flags before the ceremony...
The ceremony got a little tedious, so we found other things to do while waiting...
You can tell how much she likes it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a picture of us with some of our friends that also graduated.
I'm glad that I'll never have a class with any of them again....... Not because I didn't enjoy having classes with them, but because it means I am done at Dixie State University College of Utah in the South. Booyah!! and we graduated Rebels, not some communist army (Red Storm).

Well, looky here...

Yep, that would be my wife Blair, student of the Semester, for the Nursing Department (BSN). I'd say its been a long time coming, she works so hard (and stresses out way too much) and it is all paying off as she will be graduating next week with her Bachelor's in Nursing, at the same time as I am graduating with my Bachelor's in Biology. Good job hun, you deserve it. I'll take you out to In-N-Out to celebrate.

Just Sick...

What is more wrong? A girl with her armpits unshaven .... or The Booz with his partially shaven ...

I think it is The Booz, and here is my Boozer armpit hair poem...
Shave it all or let it grow, but don't ever give us the partial show.

Mama Debbi's BDAY!!

It was Blair's Mom's birthday yesterday, she turned........ yeah, I'm not that stupid, you'll have to get that from someone else. Anyway, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cafe Rio....
Then she opened some presents in the parking lot since we were all going our separate ways afterward....
Blair got to go to work from there, while I got to celebrate Mother-in-law's birthday at Foreigner with my own mom and this rowdy bunch...
I didn't mean for Erin to be in so many pictures but she just had to poke her head in with her mom and that boy she was with, Chad. And the picture doesn't Brady's fro and beard justice, nor could he keep his eyes open for any of the pictures. Its okay Brady, just keep smiling. Mom and Jody were like old (I mean young) groupies, dancing in the aisles and trying to grab the band members, while Becky was entranced by the lead singer's wardrobe, stop staring. Becky did get Mick Jones' guitar pick, I don't think she'll ever know what to do with it, but she has it anyways. The show "Felt like the First Time" that I had been so close at any Tuachan production, 4th row!!!! And it was definitely "Cold as Ice". But by the end everyone was "Hot Blooded" and Mom's "Double Vision" went away enough so that she could get us home safely. Corny jokes, but I don't care. It was a fun night we got home just in time to see James Loney draw a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to win the Dodger's 4th game in a row.
